6 SEPT 2019

Sitting here at camp watching the clouds pass by and wondering if we’ll get rained on tonight. We only got some sprinkles this morning after a warm, dry night. We waited out the sprinkles in the tent until about 9am I think before heading out to White Pass. The sun finally came out on our climb to Reflection Pond and it got quite warm. It was nice to have very light packs for the climb.

Once again, the views were incredible! The huckleberries were insane delicious and were everywhere. We met up with many fat marmots and other small mammals and birds. Most were gorging themselves on the abundant huckleberries. This is some really beautiful country! I can’t wait to get back here next year and thru-hike the rest of it!  We met a nice section hiker by the name of Isaac who we chatted with at Reflection Pond. We had a great discussion on outdoor ethics and wish him all the luck with his book and next year’s hike.  For us, I think we will be heading out in the morning. I’m hoping it will be dry when we break camp.
