6:45 pm: Well, I made it to Beachside state park. It definitely is beachside, nestled in a very narrow strip of trees between the beach and the
highway. Most of the hiker sites aren't very good but after much deliberation I picked the flattest one that was hidden in thick trees but only about 10 steps from the beach.
The hike down here wasn't too bad for an 18 mile day. The mile or so on the highway around Seal Rock was actually pretty cool. Lots of good rock formations. Then back on the beach to Waldport. The bridge had protected pedestrian walkways which were really nice and there was a Subway at the other end. Lunch and dinner solved!
Tomorrow it's on to Yachats and beyond, or at least as far as I have to go to find a proper camp. Hopefully I can score a killer lunch and some snacks for the next morning.
