8:30 a.m. I did not get an entry last night as I was fighting daylight getting into Lincoln city. Every trail on cascade head was closed except for the rain forest trail going up and over. It was steep going up but good trail. Going down was severely overgrown with Salmonberry! That

was followed by a long road walk on Highway 101 to Devils lake campground hiker camp. Not a very good camp. Only one couple camping

when I got here and they were still in their tent.

The area is an elevated lawn next to neighborhoods and within earshot of Highway 101. There was a lot of dew and condensation last night. I had hoped to find a stealth camp on the way here but nothing panned out. I did get a

desperately needed shower at about 9 PM.

Dinner ended up being a delicious scone I picked up at Grateful Bread before leaving Pacific City. The hike into Neskowin was nice. Great little store with a nice deli and wine shop.

Today I'm heading up to Chinook winds to catch a bus back to Tillamook. I think I might bum around at Manzanita and camp at the Nehalem Bay again? Then head home tomorrow. 

9:45 pm: Been hanging out at the hiker camp at Nehalem bay. Far fewer mosquitos than last time. Quite a few groups here but they're all pretty quiet and most have gone to bed. I think I'm going to do the same.
