9:00 p.m.

Somehow I made it all the way to the hikers Camp on Tillamook head by

6:30 PM. That was quite a long haul all the way from Fort Stevens. It

rained some last night and the camp was quite noisy which kept me from

getting much good sleep.  But we did get a 7 AM start, me and my British

buddy Tygh.

The walk to Gearhart was long and flat and kind of boring. It was good to have someone to talk to you. It was also mostly foggy the whole way. Got into Seaside by lunch and had a bite at the Seaside brewing Company. Pretty good chowder. Then we went looking for a warm jacket for Tygh. He didn't want to spend outlet store prices so we started hiking south out of town.  His legs were bothering him so we eventually parted ways. He's not used to hiking that much in a day.

Hopefully he made a slightly illegal camp in the dunes south town

because this trail up Tillamook head sucked!   It was really steep at

times and an almost constant muddy mess!  I managed to stay upright but

it wasn't easy. It took 2 1/2 hours to go 4miles. The camp up here is

really wet and not that great. Hope there's not too many vermin around.
