Official start of the OCT.  I'm here at the hikers Camp at Fort Stevens.

Ran into a nice kid from the UK also here to hike. Met him as we were

both getting off the bus at the entrance to the campground.  We both spent  night number one at the hiker biker camp and the next morning walked out to the beach from there but I decided not to start at the beginning of the official trail. I will call the Peter Iredale site the

beginning. 

I parked the car in Seaside for this one and will retrieve my car on day three when I get to Cannon Beach. Then I will probably park in Manzanita for the last two nights. If my timing is right I should hike into Manzanita in time for the farmers market on Friday. Home on Saturday after slack packing from Nehalem bay to Garibaldi. 

 The mosquitoes here kind of suck and there's a crap load of people. It's like a very noisy little city. And we are

downwind from a very smoky campfire. Just complaining a little.
