9:00 p.m. Tonight I'm camped at mile 2374 on an abandoned logging track about 100 yards from a nice spring. Apparently, about a quarter mile down the
same road at a turnaround is where everybody else is camped. Really don't care for the group camp setting especially when I don't even know how much space is down there. Guess I'm antisocial, but I do like a good nights sleep.
I had a great nights sleep last night at my spot on
the bluff. No bugs but the sun did come up awfully early. Today started out pretty good until my pinky toe started hurting again. I kept stopping to air them out, clean them and wrap them but they just kept getting worse. We'll see how they look after tomorrow's descent.
Only 16 miles to my motel room! Today was difficult. Not much for views and a lot of useless climbing and descending. And it got hot with not many big woodsy sections. And did I mention how steep the trail was. Hardly a switchback to be seen. There was trail magic at Stampede Pass compliments of "Big Mama"and her mom Kim. Got a bag of chips and an oatmeal cookie. I hope tomorrow goes better.
