9:15 p.m. I'm camped on a little ridge at the northern base of Blowout mountain. My tent is mere inches from the trail this time! I'm at mile 2355.3 which means I did 20 miles today! And just to take a look around I detoured to the top of Blowout mountain. The whole east face of it is kind of blown out. There was a great 360° view from up there and cell service. I was lucky to get in a call to my angel of a wife. It's still weird being out here alone for so long.

I did take some good breaks today and had some decent conversations with some SOBO's especially "Slowly Dying"or was it "Slowly waiting to die"? Either way it was a good chat. That was at the Ulrich cabin. More conversations at the next water stop. And several more stopped to talk on their way to that spring. Not a bad day. Didn't see any NOBO's today.

The bugs are finally relaxing a little. I stopped on trail for dinner a couple miles back and sat for an hour without getting bit. I hope the trend continues.
