White Pass to FR 23

Here I am in the Goat rocks wilderness doing a section hike from White Pass to the Stabler area on the Wind river. It should work out to about

116 miles. I'll be taking it slow this time.

Had a hard time deciding what sections I wanted to hike or if I even wanted to hike on the PCT at all. It's a weird year! 

I was up on the ridge above Shoe lake around 3pm and I said, I should go down there and check it out. So I did, and I stayed. I've been past this beautiful lake many times and have never made the detour. I'm camped here well above the lake just outside the basin with a fellow hiker named "Zipper" who hails from Elgin Texas. 

Had some good conversation earlier but now it's time to get some sleep.
