5 AUGUST 2019

It's still about 75°F out and no breeze. I camped at another little side of the trail spot at mile 1803. One other tent on the other side of the trees about 100 ft. away. I should have opted for the horse camp before Honeymoon Creek. I was getting worried that I wasn't going to be able to find a spot before dark. There are lots of through hikers out right now.

I did about 18 miles today and it started out rough. The mosquitoes were insane this morning for at least the first couple hours and then it got warm and my feet started giving me trouble again.

About halfway through the day I got into some pretty country, especially the stretch leading up to Devil's Peak. But it was hot! My water did manage to last until that first creek. After having an early dinner there and cleaning up, I hiked further down into the mosquito-infested woods and here I am with my whiny friends.
