4 AUGUST 2019

Well, I'm back on the trail in the Sky Lakes Wilderness. I'm sitting on a nice log right next to my tent waiting for dinner to hydrate. My tent is about 25 feet from the trail. I found this tiny spot about 15 minutes down the trail from Christy's Spring. There were lots of people camped there and lots of mosquitos. I definitely donated my share of blood while getting water and getting cleaned up. It was worth it though. Today was a warm one getting up here and I should have started with more water. I actually had a few gulps left when I arrived.

The main problem I encountered was these new shoes. The heel cup is really stiff and apparently not shaped right for my heels. Big blisters opened up on my left heel within the first two hours. Ouch! I will have to get Faceplant to bring my other pair when she comes to Windigo Pass. I hope I can figure out how to make these work for the next 5.5 days.

The hike up was mostly viewless and warm, as I already mentioned., but not difficult. Faceplant dropped me at the trailhead at 10:30am. There are lots of thru-hikers out right now and a few of us slow section hikers. I think dinner is ready.
